Installation of BLE Sensors

BLE sensors are used to track equipment location, utilization, and movement when paired with a compatible gateway or telematics device. Proper installation ensures accurate data transmission and long-term durability. Please see the instructions below.

Step 1: Select the Mounting Location

Choose a location that:

  • Is secure and protected from impact
  • Has a clear line of sight to nearby gateways or vehicles
  • Is consistent across similar equipment types (for easier audits)

Step 2: Prepare the Surface

  1. Clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol
  2. Allow the surface to fully dry
  3. Ensure the surface is free of dust, oil, and debris

Step 3: Mount the BLE Sensor

  1. Remove the adhesive backing from the two sided tape
  2. Firmly apply one side of the tape to the sensor and press the sensor onto the surface
  3. Hold pressure for 15–30 seconds

Step 4: Activate & Verify

  1. Confirm the sensor is active (platform confirmation)
  2. Assign the sensor to the correct equipment in the platform
  3. Verify:
    • Sensor is reporting
    • Equipment name/ID is correct
    • Signal strength is acceptable
